Mike: Peru is a very special place. The Amazonas was the highlight of the trip for me, and that is saying something having visited MP. We flew from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado along the Rio Madre de Dios. The Jungle is so powerful in size, scope and spirit. You fly for over an hour over lush green canopy. We had great guides. We were in a very small group (6). Trekking into the jungle is not for everyone. It is primitive. There is an aspect of danger that must be taken into consideration. The sights, sounds and smells of the deep jungle will live with me forever. The sunset our last night changed my life.
